Reuben Winder - Owner and maker at Thrive Leathergoods

Hi, I’m Reuben — the person behind Thrive Leathergoods.

I’ve always had a fascination with materials and objects that stand the test of time. That curiosity led me to leathercraft — a practice that lets me work slowly, with my hands, to create pieces built to last. What started with a few tools and some scrap leather has grown into Thrive Leather Goods.

The name Thrive comes from a phrase that’s stayed with me since I was 16: “Thrive, not just survive.”
It became a quiet mantra — a reminder that even in the hardest moments, there’s more to life than simply getting through. There’s meaning in choosing to live fully, with intention.

Every time I finish a piece and hold it in my hands, I’m reminded of that same choice — to keep growing, keep learning, and to take pride in the process. My hope is that each item I make carries a bit of that. That when someone holds it, wears it, or uses it, it becomes more than just a leather good. It becomes a reminder to live deliberately, to value what lasts, and to thrive.
